The London musical revival of Stiles and Drewe ‘Betty Blue Eyes’ at The Union Theatre, directed by Sasha Regan. Based on the Alan Bennett and Malcolm Mowbray motion picture ‘A Private Function’. Set post World War 2 where food rationing continues, foot chiropodist Gilbert Chilvers and his wife Joyce, are snubbed by the local town councillors. Joyce’s ambitions to become part of the elite group, enthrals the couple into stealing the pig, intended for the local celebration meal for the Royal Wedding.
